The Home & Garden touring season is upon us! As a gardener, be it real or simply a vicarious spectator, there is nothing more inspiring than immersing oneself in beautiful homes and gardens on tour this time of year. Our featured tour is the annual Horticultural Society of Maryland tour in Roland Park and Kernewood. You'll see some spectacular gardens, including many on tour for the first time, including what has to be one of Baltimore's best estate gardens. The list of opportunities is impressive for our region, so grab a friend, and hit the road!
Our cover story allows us to share an impressive home located in Atlanta, and the story of a woman's ability to build something from tragedy. Danielle Rollins is an entertaining diva along the lines of Martha Stewart and Carolyn Roehm, with amazing grace and sophisticated style. In her new book, "SOIREE: Entertaining with Style," she provides advice that is both practical and inspiring – even if she is in the south of France!
Additional stories will help you decide on what type of pool to install, gardening tips for growing heirloom tomatoes and how to get your own Amish experience!
With our usual coverage of area events, you'll notice that we have amended the list to a strictly date sequence. This allows us to transfer more easily to the web, and allows for a simpler search by readers. The number of events is impressive, and you'll want to get your calendar ready to make sure you don't miss anything!
We hope that you enjoy this issue, and your summer.
